Cons of Living in The Colony

1. Traffic and Commute Time

The downside to The Colony’s growth is an increase in traffic. 

Commute times can be long, especially when commuting to the bigger cities for work or leisure.

2. Cost of Living

When compared to other cities in Denton County, the cost of living in The Colony is above average. Housing is the main factor in the cost of living difference.

3. Limited Clubbing Life

For those who love a vibrant and varied nightlife, The Colony may feel a bit limited. There are a few fun spots, but options might seem repetitive after a while.

However, there is a lot to do if you have a family. And if you don’t mind things shutting down around 11PM to Midnight its a blast.

Grandscape: Grandscape is a shopping and entertainment district in The Colony, Texas. It’s the largest shopping destination in North Texas. It’s huge!

Immersive Gamebox: With motion tracking, projection mapping, touch screens and surround sound, Immersive Gamebox is like nothing you have experienced before!

Andretti Indoor Karting & Games: Andretti Indoor Karting & Games is a 100,000 square foot facility in The Colony, Texas. It’s named after racing legend Mario Andretti. Texas sized fun!

Top GolfTopgolf is a sports entertainment company that offers a high-tech golf game. 

The Shacks at Austin Ranch: Seven Restaurants and an off the leash dog park make The Shacks a great place to hag out with dog lovers.  Great selection of local Craft beer too.
 
Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA): With an abundance of walking trails, kayaking options, and fishing areas, it’s an ideal weekend spot for outdoor enthusiasts.
 

MCL Grand Theater: Known as the hub for the arts in Southern Denton County with performances that are sure to enthrall anyone with an appreciation for the arts.

Lewisville Lake: Had to include the amazon Lake Lewisville! Lewisville Lake is a reservoir in North Texas. It’s the largest man-made lake in the northern part of the state. The lake is 20 miles northwest of Dallas. 

Fun things to do at the lake include are: Boating, Fishing, Camping, Skiing, Swimming, Relaxing, Picnicking, Hiking, Cycling, and Birding.
